Erlton Yard Sale

Moving the yard sale to September last year, proved to be a good idea - so we are sticking with a fall event. Our annual Yard Sale is has been scheduled for Saturday, September 25th from 8am until 2pm. The rain date will be on Sunday, September 26th at the same times. This year we are going to offer up two different options for your sale.

If you want to do it at your house you can, of course, still do that. If you would like to be part of a larger group, you can sign up for a table in the triangle, (Jefferson and Park Drive intersection). The tables will be provided and we have a limited number. We will also be encouraging the Erlton businesses to hold sidewalk sales in conjunction with the yard sale.

We will do the Bake Sale again this year. If you would like to donate baked goods, please use the communication form on page two of the newsletter and let us know what you will bring. Contact Susanne Bromke 429-0807 or Barbara 354-0905 for more information.

The cost to be included in our yard sale advertising and map is $15.00 for members and $20.00 for non members. If you would like to rent a table, it will be an additional $5.00. The money we raise from the yard sale funds the events that make Erlton so special like the Erlton Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade and the Holiday Wine & Cheese. This is our only fundraiser for these events, so if you are having a yard sale that day, please do it in conjunction with the civic association.

Community Issues

Spring is here and summer is around the corner, with that, please keep the following issues in mind:

  • Register your bikes with the township and do not leave them out - we had several thefts last year. It only takes a second to register. Log onto cherryhillpolice.com and click on the bike logo.

  • Please do not leave water standing on your property - ie in kid's toys, trash can lids, pots, etc. It only takes a tablespoon of water to provide the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes.

  • Cherry Hill is still experiencing numerous break-ins during the daytime hours. Please keep ground floor windows, doors and garages locked at all times. Report anything that seems suspicious to you to the Cherry Hill Police by calling 911 or 856-665-1200.

  • Please watch your speed throughout the neighborhood and Cherry Hill. Note: vehicles MUST yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk. A new law recently went into effect and the fine is $200.00!

  • No Dumping in the park - do not put branches in the woods around the park. This is illegal and un-necessary given that the trash company will pick up yard waste.

Thank You Garden Committee

Spring is here and it's time to enjoy the park. Thanks to our gardening committee, the bench and gazebos areas are beautiful. We would especially like to thank John Correia for spreading the mulch and Ann Gerfin and Dot Owens for tireless weeding. We would also like to thank Pete Hinski and his friend from Pennsauken for volunteering.

Please note: mulch is dumped in the park every year to be used by the committee for the park, it is not intended for use by the residents.

If you would like to join the committee - they could use the help. Please contact Pat Stewart at 428-1793
